Meet the team: Matthew Watkins

If you've ever contacted us for support on a landscaping project, chances are you've dealt with Matthew Watkins, our extremely busy Estimator who works tirelessly behind the scenes, in collaboration with our clients, to ensure that each job is priced as accurately as possible, using the best quality materials and taking into account any unique project requirements.

Matt joined the Hooper Services team when he relocated to Mid-Devon from Bristol 3.5 years ago, but he has been part of the landscaping industry for nearly 10 years—some of that time spent on the tools as a landscaper, but for the most part focused on the commercial side of things. Matt is one of many unsung heroes behind the scenes who are absolutely crucial to the ongoing success of Hooper Services. We're extremely grateful to have Matt's knowledge and expertise as part of our growing team, based out of our head office in Exeter.

Matt's favourite part of the job is the variety found in the projects he prices, since no two projects or clients are ever quite the same. The larger, more complex projects are his favourite to work on, as these are handled collaboratively across the business, drawing on our in-house experts in services like Urban Tree Planting, Fencing, and Hydroseeding (just to name a few), and ensuring that we utilise the latest technology to support each project’s long-term success.

Outside of work, Matt likes to make the most of the Devon countryside with his family, as well as playing sports and cooking. We’ll look forward to you showing off those cooking skills by way of treats in the office, Matt - no pressure!
