Plymouth’s New City-Centre Landscape Comes to Life
Our recently completed work at Armada Way has transformed this important city-centre route into a greener, more welcoming and resilient public space for Plymouth.
While the scale and detail of the new landscape can be appreciated throughout the day, these nighttime photographs offer a completely different perspective. Carefully positioned lighting illuminates the trees, planting and public spaces, highlighting the textures, colours and forms found throughout the scheme.
Working on behalf of Morgan Sindall, our team helped bring the ambitious landscaping plans for Armada Way to life. The wider regeneration has created a continuous green route through the heart of the city, featuring new trees alongside extensive areas of shrubs, wildflowers, grasses, reed beds and other carefully selected planting.
The completed landscape also plays an important environmental role. Rain gardens and sustainable drainage features have been integrated into the scheme to help manage surface water naturally, while the diverse planting will provide valuable habitats and support greater biodiversity within the city centre.
Delivering a project of this scale in a busy urban environment required careful planning, close collaboration and a flexible approach from everyone involved. Our team worked alongside the wider project partners to coordinate complex landscaping operations while maintaining consistently high standards across each phase of the work.
Now complete, Armada Way offers a series of attractive spaces where people can walk, meet, relax and enjoy a stronger connection with nature. After dark, the lighting gives the landscape a new character, creating a safe and inviting setting while showcasing the planting and craftsmanship behind the transformation.
